Hana Nitsche

Hana was born on the 13th of December (zodiac sign: Sagittarius) in the small town of Jeseník in Czech Republic. She grew up in the countryside on her family’s farm, surrounded by forests and fields. When Hana turned 5, her parents decided to leave the country with her and her younger brother and moved to the southern part of Germany.

Hana went to school in Schwetzingen, a small town close to the University City of Heidelberg. As a schoolgirl, she enjoyed literature, music and the arts. In her youth, Hana was singing in a choir, joined art classes and was active in several dance formations in the youth center of her town. She went on to participate in competitions with her dance crew, where she managed the choreography and served as the dance instructor for her group. Her interest for fashion came quite late, even though she was influenced by her Czech grandmother who was a tailor.

While enjoying being dressed up in her grandmother´s garments when she was a young girl, Hana never thought of a modeling career in the first place. She was scouted and discovered at the age of 16, when a photographer approached her on the beach in Italy while she was on a family vacation. At first, she hesitated but then decided to give modeling a chance and signed up with a German modeling agency.

While still at school, Hana shot some of her first campaigns for companies like C&A and Karstadt in Europe. But her career started when she was shooting images for the first calendar of the German chocolatier "Lambertz". Those Pirelli calendar inspired pictures brought her some of her first public attention when they were featured on the front page of Germany´s most popular newspaper "BILD-Zeitung". Soon after that campaign, she received proposals to participate in some national and international beauty contests. She went on to win the title of "Model of Germany 2005" and "Model of the World Platinum 2006".

After finishing school, her agencies sent her abroad for work in Paris, Milan, Athens, Istanbul, Dubai, Cape Town, and all over Europe. Working in all the important European fashion markets, Hana was able to build up her portfolio. Her work has been published in some of the leading international magazines such as Elle, Esquire, Cosmopolitan, Marie Claire, GQ, Style, Icon, Fit for Fun, Freundin and many others. She worked with clients such as Tommy Hilfiger, Esprit, Airfield, Otto, Karstadt, C&A, and Mango. Hana also shot some magazine covers and appeared in campaigns for brands such as Energetix, Ansons, Flavia Padovan, and CALZEDONIA swim wear.

Her international career really took off when she appeared on the German TV show "Germany´s Next Topmodel", hosted by Heidi Klum in 2007. From walking the runways in Paris, Berlin, Bangkok, Los Angeles and New York, Hana went on to make guest appearances in TV shows. These appearances included "TV Total", "Extreme Activity", Blitz, Sam, Taff and features on television channels such as RTL, Vox, Pro7, Sat1 and many others.

Hana had already established herself in the fashion field. But by making the transition from modeling to film and TV, she became a public figure as well. She has since been on the cover of magazines such as FHM France, Maxim Germany and South Africa as well as fashion magazines such as Cocoon. Several fashion, lifestyle and celebrity magazines like Gala, Glamour, InStyle, and Ok have also featured Hana. She booked campaigns for Opel, Volvo, Högl, Repeat Cashmere where she replaced “Desperate Housewives” star Teri Hatcher. Hana was also part of the Camp David jeans campaign on the side of male supermodel Marcus Schenkenberg, several lingerie campaigns, as well as in commercials for Coca Cola, Lord & Taylor, Isadora Mascara and has done work for hair and beauty clients such as Schwarzkopf, Wella, L´Oreal, Herbal Essences.

In 2011, PETA the largest animal rights organization in the world approached Hana to shoot an anti-fur campaign to speak out against the cruelty on animals. Hana always had a big heart for animals, so she committed to her first nude shooting with the slogan “Fur? I’d rather go naked". Her campaign was shot in New York by star photographer "Antoine Verglas". PETA is known for provocative and powerful ad campaigns, engaging celebrities like Pamela Anderson, Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington, Eva Mendes and Elisabetta Canalis. Hana´s campaign became a global sensation and was followed by major press in the US, Germany and all around the world. Fox News, BILD, Daily Mail UK and Vogue Taiwan all made an exclusive feature on her based on the PETA campaign.

Hana’s latest work has found some public attention around the world and has been featured and shared on Internet sites such as, and many others. Complex voted Hana on the Top list of the "50 Hottest German Women for 2011" while Fox News announced her as Germany´s hottest new export.

Hana took another big step in her career when she moved to New York. She joined ONE.1, the new division of ONE Management, which represents supermodels that include Claudia Schiffer, Bar Rafaeli, Helena Christiansen, Karolina Kurkova and many other big names in the industry. She has shot with photographers like Raphael Mazzucco, Antoine Verglas, Marc Baptiste, Markus Klinko, Erez Sabag and many others. With her talent, beauty and drive, Hana has quickly managed to get established and make a name for herself in New York.
