Biography

Hana Nitsche

Hana was born on the 13th of December (zodiac sign: Sagittarius) in the small town of Jeseník in Czech Republic. She grew up in the countryside on her family’s farm, surrounded by forests and fields. When Hana turned 5, her parents decided to leave the country with her and her younger brother and moved to the southern part of Germany.

Hana went to school in Schwetzingen, a small town close to the University City of Heidelberg. As a schoolgirl, she enjoyed literature, music and the arts. In her youth, Hana was singing in a choir, joined art classes and was active in several dance formations in the youth center of her town. She went on to participate in competitions with her dance crew, where she managed the choreography and served as the dance instructor for her group. Her interest for fashion came quite late, even though she was influenced by her Czech grandmother who was a tailor.

While enjoying being dressed up in her grandmother´s garments when she was a young girl, Hana never thought of a modeling career in the first place. She was scouted and discovered at the age of 16, when a photographer approached her on the beach in Italy while she was on a family vacation. At first, she hesitated but then decided to give modeling a chance and signed up with a German modeling agency.

While still at school, Hana shot some of her first campaigns for companies like C&A and Karstadt in Europe. But her career started when she was shooting images for the first calendar of the German chocolatier "Lambertz". Those Pirelli calendar inspired pictures brought her some of her first public attention when they were featured on the front page of Germany´s most popular newspaper "BILD-Zeitung". Soon after that campaign, she received proposals to participate in some national and international beauty contests. She went on to win the title of "Model of Germany 2005" and "Model of the World Platinum 2006".
